	Winter 2010 - 2011 The safaris are operated from November 16th, 2010 through April 30th, 2011 for a minimum of 2 participants per departure. The equipment for outdoor activities - thermal outfits, shoes, gloves, helmets/hats, fuel, meals and/or coffee breaks according to the programs as well as guided tours in English are included in the prices (800 EUR personal liability for damages to snowmobile not included). As the responsible safari organiser, we reserve the right to change the routing, schedules and duration of the excursions if necessary, due to prevailing weather conditions, or if deemed advisable for safety reasons and the comfort of the participants. The snowmobile safaris are operated with 2 persons per snowmobile. Children under 15 years riding in snowmobile sledges and children under 12 years riding reindeers or huskies receive a 50% discount. Please note: 1.12.2010-9.1.2011 child discount -25%. Children under 4 years are free. 1 -"Tree fells" snowmobile safari Excursion days: daily Are you interested in learning how to drive a snowmobile? Even if you are an experienced driver, this is a good way to see the fell area of Lapland. We will ride along various trails through the beautiful winter landscape and, with luck, you may see some reindeer searching for food. Duration: 2 hours / Departure time: 10h00 Price: 86 EUR / person Supplement: 39 EUR / person, when 1 person / snowmobile 2- Snowmobile safari to the reindeerfarm Excursion days: Mon, Wed. Fri and Sat We drive by snowmobiles to a genuine Lappish reindeer farm, where we become familiar with the reindeer and the herdsman himself. We take a ride on a reindeer sledge and receive a "Reindeer Driver´s Licence". After enjoying a cup of hot coffee at the farm, we return to the village by snowmobiles. Duration: 3 hours / Departure time: 14h00 Price: 123 EUR / person Supplement: 39 EUR / person, when 1 person / snowmobile 3- Wilderness safari & Ice-fishing Excrusion days: Mon., Thur. and Sat This is one of our most fascinating safaris - if you are up for the challenge! The safari brings out the best of Lapland's wild side. We drive by snowmobiles along frozen rivers and through a snowy landscape to a peaceful wilderness lake and try our luck with ice fishing. A Lappish style outdoor lunch is served by the campfire. In the afternoon we return to Saariselkä by snowmobiles. The driving distance is approx. 75 - 100 km. Duration: 5-6 hours / Departure time: 10h00 Price: 167 EUR / person Supplement: 78 EUR / person when 1 person / snowmobile 4- Arctic adventure by snowmobile Excursion days: daily This safari gives you a possibility to enjoy the winter sceneries of Saariselkä fell area. We will drive along variable paths and over the fells into the wilderness while enjoying the thrill of speed of these arctic vehicles. During our safari we will enjoy a delicious outdoor lunch prepared by our guide. Later on we will return back to Saariselkä by snowmobiles. Duration: 4 hours / Departure time: 10h00 Price: 129 EUR / person Supplement: 39 EUR / person, when 1 person / snowmobile 5- Night safari on snowmobile Excursion days: daily We leave the lights of Saariselkä behind and drive by snowmobiles into the wilderness. While we take a break, our guide prepares a tasty snack by an open fire. We continue with our journey to the top of a fell where we can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and silence of the Lappish nature. If we are lucky, we may see the Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis - dancing in the sky. Return to Saariselkä by snowmobiles. Duration: 3 hours / Departure time: 21h00 Price: 113 EUR / person Supplement: 39 EUR / person, when 1 person / snowmobile 6- On the reindeer man's track Excursion days: Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat and Sun A reindeer safari that gives you a hint of how life was in the old days in Lapland. Our adventure begins with a transfer to the starting point of the reindeer safari. We ride in sledges pulled by the reindeer through a snowy forest and experience the beauty of the arctic nature. While enjoying a cup of traditional Finnish coffee with cookies, the guide will tell you about reindeer husbandry. You will receive a "Reindeer Driver´s Licence" and a booklet about reindeer husbandry in Finnish Lapland as a souvenir before returning to Saariselkä. Duration: 2,5 hours / Departure time: 10h00 Price: 103 EUR / person 7- Northern Lights search by reindeer Excursion days: Tue, Thu, Sat and Sun In the evening, we travel into the peace and quiet of the night forest in a sledge pulled by reindeer. If the sky is clear, we may see the Aurora Borealis - the Northern Lights - dancing in the sky. By a camp fire, we roast sausages and enjoy a cup of Finnish coffee. After the excursion we receive a "Reindeer Driver´s Licence" and a booklet with many interesting facts about the Aurora Borealis as a souvenir. . Duration: 2,5 hours / Departure time: Dec-Jan at 18.00, Feb at 18.30, March 19.00 Price: 105 EUR / person 8- Husky safari Excursion days: daily Your guide will drive to a husky farm, where dozens of huskies will greet us with their friendly howls and barks. We will leave for a safari by sledges pulled by teams of 5-7 husky dogs. A cup of coffee or hot juice will be served around an open fire and we will learn about the many aspects associated with living with and caring for the husky dogs. After the safari, transportation back to your hotel. Guiding in English According to Finnish law, the snowmobile driver must be at least 15 years of age and in possession of a valid driver’s licence. Snowmobiles are insured as required by Finnish law. This insurance covers medical care for injuries of the driver and the passenger arising from accidents. Liability for damage caused to the snowmobile up to the amount of EUR 800 per accident. Pricing The prices include value added tax (VAT). We reserve the right to revise pricing due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control such as increase in fuel prices, labour costs, taxes, etc. Supplement for solo use of snowmobile is EUR 39 (EUR 78 in the case of the Wilderness safari & Ice fishing programme).
